Katharine Moore

We’re very proud of the reissues of three Katharine Moore titles, in e-book format this year – Summer at the Haven, Moving House and The Lotus House were all made available in March.

And as we look forward to a three generation, literary celebration (in June Katharine’s daughter, the poet Jane Kingshill, will be joined by Katharine’s grandaughter, Sophia Kingshill to celebrate the release of all three writers’ books), we thought it a good time to have a look back over Katharine Moore’s life.

Take a look at this wonderful obituary from the Guardian, November 2001.  This astounding lady, who lived to be 103, came to writing later than most, and had a lot to say about the pleasures and trials of aging. In fact, as the article describes, old age was ‘a state for which Moore became something of an advocate’.

And who knew she was such great pals with the brilliant Joyce Grenfell?! Find their letters published in An Invisible Friendship.

More details on the three-generation book launch mentioned to follow. Keep an eye on our events page.
