Colouring in the World Cup

So, that it then. The World Cup is over and everyone around the world, even those who detest football, probably won’t be able to avoid the news and pictures of Spain’s win.

What many people may not know is that England’s lacklustre performance has had a ripple effect in the publishing world – news is that the proposed five volume autobiography deal for Wayne Rooney, including a diary of the 2010 World Cup team’s adventures, has been shelved. Read more here…

But for a more cheerful and definitely more colourful note on the effect football has had on the art world… check out these carvings of ‘iconic’ (ahem, Rooney) footballers. They are not carved pieces of wood or moulded precious metals but some rather ingenious crayon carvings!
