Tube Poetry

Travel Better London and TFL are partnering up for a poem competition about travel etiquette in London. Passengers who pen the best poem will see their masterpiece and a cartoon of themselves on a poster in a special campaign across the network.

The poem must be 4 – 6 lines long and feature any of the following travel faux-pas:

litter left on the tube, bus, trains and in stations

pulling the passenger alarm unnecessarily and passengers falling ill on trains

holding the train doors open

moving down the platform

moving down inside to allow room for others

putting feet on seats

ensuring priority seats are offered to those who need them.

tube poem

Anyone feeling particularly creative? After my commute this morning, I’m tempted to pen a poem about people running for the tube as the doors close and getting trapped!
