A few results of our ‘What’s another word for AUTHOR?’ competition

On our blog (Friday 23rd March) we posted a competition to come up with another word or phrase to denote the term AUTHOR. We’ve had some lovely entries including these favourites below:

A life injector of paper
Samantha Wesley, Blandford (our runner-up)

Ink Wizard
Stacey Corrin, Tiverton

Imagination in Use
Steph Meakin, Derby

Wordician
Kelly Hooper, Huntingdon

Articulate, Ultra-Talented, Honorary, Outstanding, Recreation-er
Aishah Waheed, Ashton-Under-Lyne

Dreammaker
Georgina Ball, Ely

and, quite frankly, I think we should petition to have these new terms officially added to the Thesaurus. It was a tough call choosing the winner, but the overriding favourite was:

Big Chief Quill
Christine Johnson, Kendal

In fact, I think I might refer to our authors this way in future. Might throw in a ‘Kemosabe’ once in a while for good measure.

As promised, our winner will receive a signed copy of The War of the Dragon Lady, by John Wilcox. Congrats Christine, and thanks to all who joined in this bit of fun!

Chiara Priorelli, Publicity & Online Marketing Manager

(P.S. And yes, I do realised today is the 2nd April, not the 1st and April Fool’s day as I mistakenly wrote in that previous blog. The fool is me.)
