Friday Fun: Classic phrases from reviewers…

‘It’s the first great novel of the new millemium…of our post-9/11 age… of the new year…of the month…since lunch.’

Ron Charles, Fiction Editor at The Washington Post had me chuckling (and choking on my cereal this morning) with his video-quip about standard phrases used by reviewers. So, following on from yesterday’s blog post, if you plan to submit a review to the Arts Journalism competition, perhaps you should avoid these clichés…
