AUTHOR FRANCIS KING HAS PASSED AWAY

Former Allison & Busby author Francis King passed away on 3 July at the age of 88. He was the author of over 30 novels and many short stories, including ‘Ash on an Old Man’s Sleeve’, ‘Dead Letters’ and the short story collection ‘A Hand at the Shutter’.

He was the author of over 30 novels as well as many short stories and was described by Alan Massie at the Telegraph as ‘a novelist of discernment, the surface of whose narrative is so attractive that only on reflection do you realise how deep he goes’. He was also the drama critic for the Sunday Telegraph for many years

Allison & Busby published his novel Ash on an Old Man’s Sleeve set in Castro’s cuba, his acclaimed novel Dead Letters and his collection of short stories, A Hand at the Shutter.
