A little gem for cinema-goers
Iโve been watching more films recently โ mostly thanks to my Lovefilm account. But occasionally thereโs a film you just have to see on the big screen and this cinema in Notting Hill is my secret love.
The Coronet is an old Victorian theatre, with gorgeous old-school dรฉcor in scarlet and gold and feels like a cinema for grown-ups, not for screaming kids. You can buy your wine or beer from the bar downstairs and take it into the cinema with you – very civilized.
The cinema became well-known after Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts filmed a scene from Notting Hill here but luckily with so many other cinemas around itโs not too overrun.
And the price? ยฃ7 all week except for Tuesdays when itโs a bargain at ยฃ3.50. Unbelievably reasonable for London. I think Invictus will be on my agenda next weekโฆ
