World Cup woes..

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

So, that was it then, England’s (belated) exit from the World Cup. Humph, well can everyone now please put away the plethora of flags, please? Yes, even you Mr Cabbie with your rather ingenious St George flap sock contraptions that go over your wing mirrors.

In a tournament where England really didn’t dazzle, the few goals that the team scored are kind of precious. So, my heart goes out to the portion of the viewing population that had the ITV HD transmission cut out on England’s first World Cup goal (against the USA), and also to those stuck in a power cut on Thursday in West London which denied them the chance of seeing the team play against Slovenia.

May I suggest lifting your spirits (or drowning your woes?) for the remainder of the World Cup by treating yourself to some Official World Cup wines and The South Afrian Illustrated Cookbook with this great gift set offer.
