Where did I put my…??

Yesterday I left home to go to work, got to Wimbledon station and then realised I’d left my travel card at home, in the pocket of another jacket. Arrrgh! Great start to the day. I am forced to text my colleagues to admit my oversight, letting them know I have to head home again so might be a bit late in.

Fact is, I am notorious for walking out of the office only to return seconds later after realising I have left my mobile phone or book or scarf or you-name-it by my desk.

So, when Managing Editor, Lara, asked me if I’d read the Metro that morning, because the daily This Life comic strip made her think of me… well, I couldn’t possibly defend myself. I simply had to agree.

    Going Too Far, by Catherine Alliott. Susie: I rarely read 'girly' books but came across Alliott a few years ago. I've read 3 of her books thus far, and was delighted to spot this one for 30p in a charity shop. I've not opened it as yet but am hoping for another witty, grown-up, middle-class romcom, with lots of 4x4s and country houses!
