Wednesday Cover Story: The Girl on the Beach

Wednesday, March 14th, 2012

A little anecdote for the day. The editor of Booksmonthly, Paul Norman, recently requested a copy of The Girl on the Beach, by Mary Nichols for review. I dutifully set about sending him one.

And, as life and its little coincidences would have it, whilst waiting for this copy to materialise in the post, he received another book: Dames, Dolls and Deliquents, by Gary Lovisi – a collection of almost 700 sexy pulp fiction covers from the 1950s and 1960s. And what should he find included within its pages?  The cover to another Girl on the Beach…

I would imagine this would be quite a different read to a Mary Nichols novel…

    Shakespeare's Ghost by Mary Hoffman

Kelly: Picked this up in Stratford-upon-Avon at the weekend. This ode to Shakespeare sees Faelinn, a faerie princess, try to lure Ned, an actor with the King’s Men, over to live with her on the Other Side. But since only Ned and William Shakespeare himself can see these creatures, can they be trusted?
