Wednesday Cover Story: Do you see a trend here?

The success of The Interpretation of Murder (one of Richard & Judy’s Summer Reads) certainly has spawned similar cover designs on subsequent books.  That publishers look to ride on the success of a previous titles by evoking similar designs on their new books is standard practice, but the fact that this particular design-trend has lasted this long (three years so far) shows that there’s probably something particularly strong about this look.

Anyone know of any other similar cover designs to The Interpretation of Murder, and in particular any published BEFORE it?
