How to Bag a Prince

Friday, February 18th, 2011

As much as it pains me to recommend another publishers’ book, I have to give credit where credit is due. In amongst all the awful tat that is circulating with the run-up to the Royal Wedding (dishcloths, commemorative china – ho hum) Penguin has outdone itself.  Introducing the Royal Wedding: William and Kate Dress-up Dolly Book, with this rather tasteful YouTube video to give you a taster of the delights within.

For some reason we are obsessed with royal and presidential fashion – as many column inches are dedicated to Michelle Obama’s wardrobe as to her husband’s policies. So, for all those little tykes, dreaming of marrying a prince one day, remember it’s not the package, but the packaging that counts.

Going Too Far, by Catherine Alliott. Susie: I rarely read 'girly' books but came across Alliott a few years ago. I've read 3 of her books thus far, and was delighted to spot this one for 30p in a charity shop. I've not opened it as yet but am hoping for another witty, grown-up, middle-class romcom, with lots of 4x4s and country houses!
