Go Greased Lightning!

Forget The Man Booker Prize, forget Newsnight, I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that now and then our brains are in urgent need of a rest. To plagiarise my husband: ‘Rather than sitting down to the mental or cultural equivalent of a hearty, three course meal, sometimes all that we need is chewing gum for the eyes.’ For me, this was one of those weeks.

That’s why I positively cooed when I saw a mention on the TV that Grease has a sing-a-long release at cinemas now!

Come on, sing with me: ‘Go, greased lightnin’ you’re burnin’ up the quarter mile…’ (Come on, you know you want to). There’s even a group booking offer here…  (Ahem, next office excursion anyone…?)

    Going Too Far, by Catherine Alliott. Susie: I rarely read 'girly' books but came across Alliott a few years ago. I've read 3 of her books thus far, and was delighted to spot this one for 30p in a charity shop. I've not opened it as yet but am hoping for another witty, grown-up, middle-class romcom, with lots of 4x4s and country houses!
