Amanda Hocking. I am fascinated by this author. She is 26 years old and has self-published her books. Her sales are in the hundreds of thousands (various sources quote numbers from 185,000 to 500,000) and the overwhelming majority of these sales are e-books. Film rights have been optioned for her Trylle series and she is a millionairess. Lauded by some as the poster girl signaling the end of traditional publishing, Amanda herself has a rather refreshing view on her success and on traditional publishing vs self-publishing in general: Read what she has to say here…
Good luck to her – I think she thoroughly deserves her success.
