Behind-The-Books Blog

Dedicated to…

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Have you ever wondered who is behind the dedications that authors add to their books?  And who would you mention if you were to publish a book? I’ve often thought about it and always enjoy hearing the stories associated with the named individuals.  So, it’s with very great pleasure, that I introduce young Imogen Rose who is the granddaughter of our top selling author Edward Marston.  And it is to her that Edward has dedicated his new book, Under Siege.

To our lovely new granddaughter,
Imogen Rose,
in the hope that she will one day read it

Isn’t she just the most adorably gorgeous wee thing ever? But, as you can see, she doesn’t seem as gripped by Grandad’s exciting new novel as I was…

Oh, she is sweet! A book dedicated to her and now a blog entry – I think fame is on the cards for little Imogen.

Going Too Far, by Catherine Alliott. Susie: I rarely read 'girly' books but came across Alliott a few years ago. I've read 3 of her books thus far, and was delighted to spot this one for 30p in a charity shop. I've not opened it as yet but am hoping for another witty, grown-up, middle-class romcom, with lots of 4x4s and country houses!
