After the mayhem of last week’s London Book Fair - albeit a much quieter mayhem thanks to the Icelandic ash cloud and the ensuing travel chaos - it’s been nice to be back in the office and to a bit of normality, with fluffy white aeroplane trails once again scoring the sky and fewer beleaguered travellers clogging the streets with their pull-along cases.

I have to mention that one of our ex-work experience stars, Sophie Dean, stopped by our stand to say hello. We’ve mentioned the lovely Sophie before – she’s the artist behind the fabulously funny BitBookish cartoons, which help everyone see the funny side of life in the publishing world. This year she’s been busy again, creating her comic strips with little nuggets of witty wisdom, and – very excitingly – her work was featured in the Bookseller Daily at the LBF. Well done, Sophie!

Give Sophie your support by visiting her website, www.bitbookish.com, or follow her on Twitter or Facebook.
