JUAN JOSÉ MILLÁS was born in Valencia in 1946. He studied philosophy and arts at university and now lives in Madrid where he teaches at the Madrid School of Fine Arts. He also writes a weekly column in the leading Spanish daily newspaper, El Pais. His twelve books have been translated into many languages, won various awards and sold in their hundreds of thousands throughout Europe.
